Ahinsa Sthal

Jain Temple
Description

Overlooking Mehrauli are the ever watchful eyes of Mahavira. On a high vantage point across the main road sits his large granite statue.

Mahavira is the 24th and last Tirthankara (spiritual guides) of the Jains. With “Ahinsa Sthal” translating to “non-violence”, many come to this site finding an quiet environment filled with peace. Whether you come via the metro or the main road, you can remove your shoes and make your way up the small mountain to the Mahavira.

Some come for spiritual enlightenment and others for the sweeping view. Whichever you are, you will find a release from the hustle bustle of Delhi on this peaceful hilltop.
