Sanjay Van

Sanjay Van is a sprawling city forest area near Vasant Kunj and Mehrauli in Delhi, spread over 783 acres. It is one of the most thickly wooded parts of the city's green lungs. It contains many different sections — medicinal plantations, varied flora and trees — and also holds the oldest Delhi fort, Lal Kot, hidden inside the trees. Walking trails wind through the forest, and dawn and dusk bring out peacocks, jackals and a wealth of birdlife. Quick reference — Period: unknown. Hours: daytime. Cost: free.
