Is India Safe?

#Safety
The Short Answer

All caveats aside, yes. You will however want to exercise some basic precautions though.

The Long Answer

As with any country or vacation, there is a spectrum of safety. In India, there are safe areas and others where precaution would be wise. For health safety, we do recommend people to consult their physician about any vaccinations or other health concerns. You can read a little more about that in our FAQ: Medical post. When it comes to your time on our Mehrauli experience, we take precautions to provide the cleanest food and water available. And as for any non-medical concerns of safety, we recommend a few basic pieces of advice:

- Travel with someone else — family, friends or a guide. Or if you are going solo, let someone know about your itinerary and plans-trust your gut. If something makes you feel uneasy, err on the side of safety by leaving the situation.

- Sign up for alerts with your Embassy in Delhi. For travelers from the United States, follow this link.

If you have any other concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We at Project Mehrauli gladly call this neighborhood our home, both by choice and birth. Safety concerns are easily addressed with common sense and a little preparation. Do not let them keep your from exploring this amazing nation!
